Tytuł oryginalny: Le Fantôme de la liberté

"Widmo wolności" składa się z luźno powiązanych ze sobą scen, które przedstawiają najdziwniejsze sytuacje. Główną ideą filmu, było wywrócenie standardowego pojmowania świata, do góry nogami. Oglądamy więc obiad, przy którym goście siedzą na muszlach klozetowych, a jeść udają się na osobności, do ustronnej kuchni; grupę mnichów grających w pokera o święte medaliki; rodziców, którzy poszukują swojej córeczki, chociaż ta wszędzie chodzi z nimi; parę, która gorszy się na widok zdjęć różnych zabytków; czy wreszcie snajpera, który po zabiciu grupy ludzi, dostaje wyrok śmierci, a jednak wychodzi spokojnie na wolność i rozdaje autografy.
